dandydj comments are right on the mark. A expansion gap IS needed. A gap must be left. If it isn't Allure will buckle just like hardwood or laminate floating floors will when no expansion gap is left. Also you don't just eyeball the staggering. You cut the plank in either a 1/3 length or a 2/3 length. Install either one at the end of the row of planks. You use 2/3 length. 1/3 plank should start next row.
